About Tune Outdoor

Tune Outdoor is a truck camper manufacturer based in Denver, Colorado, that designs and assembles the Tune M1 and M1L pop-up canopy campers for pickup trucks. The company was co-founded in 2020 by Sean Kepler and Kris Arnold, later joined by mechanical engineer Broc Patterson and Backcountry Access co-founder Bruce (Bruno) McGowan, and launched its first product, the M1, in 2023. Tune builds its campers around a patented WingWall bump-out design and a custom aluminum T-track extrusion system, using fiberglass-reinforced polymer (FRP) panels and glass-filled nylon corner brackets; core engineering, assembly, and finishing take place in Colorado, while some components (aluminum extrusions, injection-molded parts, canopy fabric) are sourced internationally. Tune sells direct to consumers from its Denver headquarters and also works with a network of authorized dealer/installer partners across the US and Canada.

How they build

Tune Outdoor's founders set out to build the lightest, most modular, and most configurable overland-first truck camper possible, rejecting traditional slide-in campers as too heavy and space-inefficient, and applying a "form follows function" approach across materials and construction.
