About Trillium / Outback Trailers

Outback Trailers, based in Carseland, Alberta, builds "The Outback," a modern reproduction of the classic Trillium fibreglass travel trailer that was originally introduced in the early 1970s by the now-defunct Trillium Recreational Vehicles Ltd. of Markham, Ontario — a separate, unrelated company. The current, family-run Outback Trailers retools the vintage two-piece fibreglass-shell design with updated axles, appliances, and components, and also runs a parts-and-service business supporting owners of Trillium/Boler-style vintage fibreglass trailers across North America. The trailers weigh roughly 1,450 lb dry and are marketed as a lightweight, garage-storable alternative to full-size RVs.

How they build

Outback Trailers says it believes in lightweight, compact design that maximizes fuel economy and lets the trailer be stored in a home garage, retooling the classic fibreglass-shell design with newer, smaller, more efficient components without sacrificing its light weight or simplicity.
