About Tiffin Motorhomes
Tiffin Motorhomes is a manufacturer of Class A, B, and C motorhomes based in Red Bay, Alabama. The company was founded in 1972 by Bob Tiffin, after his family's local automotive-related business bought out a struggling area RV company. It remained family-run for decades — Bob's sons Tim, Van, and Lex joined starting in 2005 — before Tiffin Motorhomes became part of the Thor Industries family of companies in 2020. Tiffin builds its own PowerGlide chassis and hand-crafted cabinetry in Red Bay, and its current product lines include Allegro, Allegro Bus, Allegro Red, Phaeton, Zephyr, Open Trail, Open Road, Wayfarer, and Cornerstone, along with the towable Vanleigh RV brand.
How they build
Tiffin describes itself as a family-operated business that builds many core components — including its own chassis, cabinetry, and roof structure — in-house, on the premise that a coach carrying the Tiffin family name is a matter of personal pride rather than just an industry product.
