About Rugged Mountain RV
Rugged Mountain RV is a family-owned truck camper and travel trailer manufacturer founded in January 2014 by Jesse and Anca Collinsworth, initially building travel trailers before launching a truck camper production line in November 2016. The company operates factory-direct from a converted Boise Cascade paper mill in Emmett, Idaho, sharing the facility with the Collinsworths' sister business, Tiny Idahomes. Rugged Mountain's earlier facility (as of a 2017 factory visit) was in Nampa, Idaho.
How they build
CEO Jesse Collinsworth is a vocal advocate for wood-framed, spray-foam-insulated construction over aluminum framing, arguing it bonds more reliably and resists delamination in Idaho's extreme temperature swings; the company says many design details come directly from the Collinsworths' own truck-camping trips with their children.
