About ProLite
Prolite is a Canadian manufacturer of ultralight travel trailers based in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec. Founded in 2000 by Martin James, who built the first trailer (the Polaira) from scratch in his garage, the company makes small, lightweight travel trailers with fiberglass monocoque roofs and foam wall insulation designed to be towed by standard passenger vehicles. In February 2023, ownership passed from founder Martin James to current owner Frédéric Delwiche. Prolite sells through a dealer network across North America and also exports to Japan.
How they build
Prolite designs trailers around the idea of "traveling light": aerodynamic, low-weight shells (many models under 3,000 lb) built with waterproof fiberglass roofs and closed-cell DuroFoam insulation so that owners can tow with the vehicle they already have, including compact cars.
