About Polydrops

Polydrops designs and builds ultra-lightweight, aerodynamic, insulated teardrop trailers intended for easy towing behind electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, based in Glendale, California. The project began in 2017 when architecture student Kyunghyun "K" Lew built the first insulated teardrop prototype for his thesis in a Los Angeles parking lot; in 2018, after angel investor Rob Rhinehart (founder of Soylent) took interest, Polydrops became a formal company. The first production Polydrop trailer debuted publicly in March 2019.

How they build

Apply architectural design thinking to solve what the founders saw as the RV industry's neglect of proper insulation and aerodynamics, creating an energy-efficient, fully insulated "own space" rather than a conventional camping trailer.

  • Aerodynamic teardrop trailers
  • Full insulation for energy efficiency
  • EV-towable lightweight design
  • Direct-order custom builds

This is the Google rating for Polydrops's business location — the offices and factory, not the RVs they build. Reviews there often come from employees, visitors and job applicants, so read it as a signal about the company, not the coach.
