About Off Grid Customs

Off Grid Customs is a Squamish, British Columbia manufacturer of custom composite camper boxes for truck, van and expedition chassis. The company began in 2018 as a van-conversion shop and moved progressively upmarket into composite structures, and since 2024 has dropped turn-key conversions entirely to concentrate on box production for DIY builders and OEM customers. Every box is built from Cascadia Composites panels - high-impact fiberglass skins over a high-density EPS foam core - which the company sources exclusively and describes as Canadian-made and entirely non-organic, so the structure is rated for four-season use without condensation problems. Fiberglass pultrusions are used in place of metal framing to eliminate thermal bridging and keep expansion and contraction uniform, which Off Grid Customs says removes the need for seasonal resealing, and assembly is bonded exclusively with Sikaflex products using manufacturer-approved methods. The range spans four formats: flatbed habitats, van chassis habitats (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster and others), cabover habitats, and expedition habitats for larger chassis including 550/5500 trucks, LMTV military chassis, Unimogs and MAN trucks. Boxes are built to customer specification with options including alcoves, wheel wells and departure-angle profiling, plus an exterior fabrication package of powder-coated aluminium fenders, storage boxes, rear bumper assemblies, tail lighting and entry stairs. Pre-outfitting upgrades cover Arctic Tern windows and cargo doors, Wildlands entry doors, DOT marker and interior lighting, Maxxfan vents and skylights, pre-wired solar, and FRP honeycomb interior wall panels. The company publishes CAD drawings and technical support for builders fitting out its shells.

How they build

Supply overland builders with a reliable, precisely specified starting point rather than a finished vehicle - focus exclusively on the box, do that part properly, and give DIYers and OEMs the drawings and technical support to outfit it with confidence.

  • Cascadia Composites FRP panels over EPS foam core
  • Thermal-bridge-free fiberglass pultrusion assembly
  • Boxes for DIY builders and OEM wholesale
