About King Star Campers

The Kingstar Company is a Houghton, Michigan manufacturer of truck campers, overland trailers, and horse trailers, founded in 2018 by brothers Marcus and Cal Niemela. Every Kingstar unit is designed and built in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, using stainless steel roof systems, closed-cell spray foam insulation, and (on its overland trailers) a proprietary independent air suspension system. The company grew out of the Niemela brothers' earlier hydraulics and manufacturing ventures (Boss Snowplow, Cuda Cleaning Systems, Blizzard Corporation) before entering horse trailers and, later, truck campers.

How they build

Kingstar says it "reimagined every aspect" of horse and camping trailers, applying decades of mobile-equipment and hydraulics engineering experience to solve pain points (hay loading, horse hydration, four-season insulation) that it felt the existing market had neglected.

  • KRUZR truck campers
  • Hydraulic folding horse corral trailers
  • Independent air suspension overland trailers
  • Stainless steel roof systems
  • Upper Peninsula, Michigan craftsmanship
