About Kimbo Campers

Kimbo Campers builds hand-riveted, all-aluminum slide-in truck bed campers in Bellingham, Washington. Mark King — an inventor who previously founded the wallet company Trayvax — built the first Kimbo camper from scratch in 2016 after living in a 19-foot Airstream, and lived in the prototype for six months and 30,000 miles before bringing it to market. The company builds two lines, the midsize-truck Kimbo 6 and the full-size Kimbo 8, made to order at its Bellingham workshop, and reports more than 600 campers delivered since 2016.

How they build

For over a decade, Kimbo has refined every detail for durability, simplicity, and long-term ownership, using a frameless riveted-aluminum shell so the camper expands and contracts as one piece and never delaminates like a wood-framed unit.

  • Hand-riveted aluminum shells
  • Frameless monocoque construction
  • No-adhesive foam insulation
