About Hiker Trailers

Hiker Trailers builds custom teardrop and compact off-road camping trailers at its plant in Columbus, Indiana. The company was formed roughly a decade ago through a partnership between an Indianapolis-based and a Colorado-based teardrop trailer builder; Columbus-based Sterling Industries (which supplied the trailers' metal frames) and its parent, NuMA Group, later formed Hiker Industries to acquire and consolidate both operations into the Columbus plant. Hiker offers six base trailer lines, from the entry-level Highway Lite to the off-road-oriented Extreme Off-Road and stand-up Mainstay models, sold online with build customization plus a network of showroom/pickup locations across the country. The company reports more than 4,000 units built to date and says 2023 sales grew 100% year over year for the second year running.

How they build

Hiker Trailers positions its four core values as affordability, customizability, quality (inherited from its parent company's manufacturing background), and community, offering trailers as an upgradeable 'platform' that owners can add options and accessories to over time rather than a fixed, finished product.

  • Custom teardrop trailers
  • Off-road capable models
  • Nationwide showroom/pickup network
  • Certified pre-owned program
