About Highland Ridge RV
Highland Ridge RV, Inc. builds towable travel trailers and fifth wheels — marketed under the Open Range, Roamer, Range Lite, Colt, Mesa Ridge, and Silverstar names — from Middlebury, Indiana. The company began as Open Range RV, founded in 2007 by Randy Graber; Jayco purchased Open Range RV's assets in March 2014 and renamed the company Highland Ridge RV, which operates today as a subsidiary within Thor Industries' Jayco Family of Companies (Thor acquired Jayco in 2018) with its own manufacturing facilities, sales force, and leadership team. Randy Graber continues to serve as President. The brand's own website and marketing are presented almost entirely under the 'Open Range RV' name rather than 'Highland Ridge.'
How they build
Highland Ridge RV says its designs are driven directly by feedback from RV owners and dealers, using what it calls 'deliberate design' to solve everyday camping frustrations rather than following industry-standard layouts.
- Open Range fifth wheels and travel trailers
- Owner-driven 'deliberate design' process
- Zero-degree cold-weather testing
