Gone Mobile Vans
“Simple, Clean, Capable Adventure Vans”
About Gone Mobile Vans
Gone Mobile Vans is a custom adventure-van conversion shop based in Costa Mesa, California, building primarily on the Ford Transit chassis. The company was founded by Brendan McKenney, who left a roughly 30-year career in pyrotechnics and special effects after converting his own van, before going on to build for other customers. It remains a family-run business today, with his wife Brooke and other family members working alongside him.
How they build
Gone Mobile Vans describes its build approach as "Simple, not featureless. Clean, not cluttered. Capable, but comfortable," aiming for an adventure-ready base camp rather than a maximalist build.
