About Explorer Van Company

Explorer Van Company is a family-owned van conversion manufacturer in Warsaw, Indiana. It was started on 1 November 1980 by Bob Kesler and his son Steve Kesler, who had been delivering vans part time for Coachmen Conversions and persuaded his father that the conversion business was worth entering; the first Explorer van was completed that December. The company converts Chevrolet/GMC, Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis into 7, 9 and 11 passenger vans in low-top and raised-roof configurations, sells through a nationwide dealer body, and says more than 100 craftsmen work on its conversions with over half the workforce having been there more than fifteen years. Steve Kesler is president; Bob Kesler died in November 2003.
