About Escapod

Escapod Trailers was founded in 2016 by Chris and Jen Hudak, who sketched their first off-road teardrop on a napkin after tiring of tent-camping logistics on mountain-bike road trips. The company started in a gas-station-turned-workshop in tiny Wanship, Utah, moved into a former car dealership in nearby Coalville in 2020, and has since expanded into a roughly 22,000-square-foot campus there. Design and strategy partner Chris Eckel joined in 2018. Escapod's original TOPO teardrop evolved into the TOPO2, launched in 2021 with a patented single-piece molded fiberglass monocoque body — a rarity in the teardrop world that eliminates framing and seams. Trailers are equipped for genuine off-road use (independent suspension, all-terrain tires, off-grid power) and offered in trim levels including MTB, Voyager and Nomad. One of the fastest-growing off-road camper manufacturers in the country, Escapod sells primarily consumer-direct with in-house financing, runs a rental fleet for try-before-you-buy, and emphasizes largely US-sourced components with in-house fabrication and 3D-printed custom parts. The TOPO2 carries a 5-year limited structural warranty handled in-house.
