About Escape Trailer Industries
Escape Trailer Industries of Chilliwack, British Columbia traces its roots to 1993, when Reace and Tammy Harmatuik began repairing and renting out old fiberglass campers in the Fraser Valley. Constant customer requests for more capable units led the couple into manufacturing: in 2003 they brought the first Escape 17-ft molded-fiberglass travel trailer to market, and the company grew into what is billed as the only fully fiberglass trailer made in Canada. Escape sells factory-direct with a semi-custom ordering model — each trailer is built to order over roughly two weeks, with buyers choosing layouts, fabrics, flooring and options — which helped create one of the most devoted owner communities in the fiberglass-trailer world. The lineup spans compact molded-fiberglass travel trailers up to the Escape 5.0 fiberglass fifth wheel. The Harmatuiks sold the company to private-equity ownership in 2018 to scale production, and Escape saw explosive demand growth through the pandemic era. Trailers carry a 2-year limited warranty on materials and workmanship, with an optional 7-year Platinum Guard extended plan; the 100% molded fiberglass body is central to its leak-resistant, lightweight reputation.
