About EarthCruiser USA

EarthCruiser was founded in 2008 by Lance Gillies and Michelle Boltz in Australia, after the couple could not find a suitable overland vehicle for crossing the Great Sandy Desert. In 2013 Gillies moved his family and primary production to Bend, Oregon, where EarthCruiser USA became one of the most respected names in global expedition vehicles — compact, self-sufficient composite campers on Mitsubishi Fuso and heavy-duty pickup platforms (EXP, FX, Terranova), plus high-profile projects like the GMC Hummer EV camper upfit. After 16 years, EarthCruiser wound down its in-house vehicle production in Bend, with its last day of factory operations on April 25, 2024, citing changing market dynamics and economic challenges. The brand did not disappear: it relaunched under a new operational model as EarthCruiser Innovation LLC, keeping its Bend headquarters but shifting to a lean, distributed-manufacturing structure. Today EarthCruiser supplies engineered composite expedition platforms — the MOD slide-in camper, Terranova, and CORE — that are finished by a nationwide network of certified professional upfitters, while continuing a small number of complete EXP/FX builds per year.
