Chinook Motor Coach builds luxury Class B and B+ motorhomes — Bayside, Maverick, Concourse, Summit, and Destiny, nearly all with AWD and 4-season certification — in Peru, Indiana. The company traces its heritage to Mair & Son, founded in 1938 by Sy and Rose Mair, and to the fiberglass Chinook coaches built in Yakima, Washington under Trail Wagons that earned the nickname 'The Sports Car of Motorhomes'; that era ended when production halted in 2005 and the Washington factory closed in 2006. RV industry veteran Phil Rizzio acquired the brand in 2013 and relaunched production from a 200,000-plus sq ft Indiana facility, with the first new model, the Summit B+, arriving in March 2021.
