About Chalet A-Frame Campers
Chalet Inc. (Chalet RV) of Albany, Oregon hand-builds hard-sided folding A-frame camping trailers — currently the LTW, Classic, and XL — that set up in seconds and tow behind most vehicles. The company was co-founded around 2000 by Chris and Brenda Hanson and once billed itself as the nation's leading manufacturer of ultra-lightweight hard-sided folding trailers, surviving the 2008 industry crash that killed larger Oregon RV makers. Today it operates as a small-batch builder with a waiting list, supported by an owner 'Ambassador' network and its own parts/service store.
How they build
Products are hand-crafted in Oregon with lightweight hard-sided construction and the company's patented Roof Lift System; the company credits its survival to staying small, flexible, and quick to respond to niche demand.
