About Capri Camper

Capri Camper has been hand-building lightweight, non-slide truck campers in Texas since 1969, originally for rodeo cowboys who needed a durable, easy-to-haul camper between events. Today the company builds two models — the cab-over Retreat and non-cab-over Cowboy — in three sizes from its Bluff Dale, Texas shop, sold factory-direct on a build-to-order basis. Father-and-son team Pete and Tyson D'Acosta bought the company in 2014 and relaunched it to the broader truck camper market while keeping its value-oriented, vintage-styled formula.

How they build

Every camper is custom, hand-built from the ground up using time-honored solid-wood-frame construction, fully insulated and wrapped in anodized aluminum including a one-piece aluminum roof — a deliberately traditional approach that keeps the campers light, tough, and affordable.
