“Hand made campers and overlanding gear”
About Bundutec USA
BundutecUSA, Inc. was founded in 2013 in Raymond, Iowa by Rory Willett, who retired as president of Northstar Campers, the family truck-camper business started by his grandfather Tex Willett in the early 1960s. The company hand-builds semi-custom pop-top and hard-sided truck campers in a range of floor plans, from empty shells to fully equipped units, and is also the US distributor for Bundutec of South Africa's BunduTop rooftop tents and BunduAwn wrap-around awnings. With five employees, it is one of the smallest truck camper manufacturers in the country.
How they build
Campers are wood-framed — which Willett says keeps them affordable and easy to customize off-jig — with aluminum-framed laminated pop-top roofs raised by a 4-corner electric jack system. Every build is semi-custom: Willett works one-on-one with each customer on the floor plan and equipment, and all builds ship with lithium power and DC compressor refrigerators as standard.
